The ttgbusiness Awards 2008
Welcome to the 2008 ttgbusiness Awards. These awards are dedicated to business travel professionals at all levels of the industry and reward excellence in all areas.
Winners of the agent categories will be taken on the trip of a lifetime to Shanghai, courtesy of British Airways and Jumeirah. The winners will stay at the 309-room Jumeirah Hantang Xintiandi in Shanghai’s Luwan district for three nights. Make sure you are in with a chance of winning this amazing prize by entering the awards now.
I have spoken to each of the winners of last year’s ttgbusiness Awards, as well as their bosses, and the same message comes out each time: the ttgbusiness Awards are unique in an industry crowded with awards.
Well I would say that wouldn’t I? But let me explain.
When we launched the ttgbusiness Awards – or, as they were The Business Travel People Awards – our aim was to reward and recognise those individuals working on ‘the frontline’ in business travel who strive hard every day to the best job they can and sometimes do not get the recognition that they deserve.
We wanted to highlight all those people and the work they do for their organisations rather than the organisations themselves.
This is an important point: it’s not about how big a company is or what its turnover is or its profits – it’s about the individuals who make up that company that make it great.
And our aim is no different this year, although we have added a couple of categories and tweaked a couple of others.
So, we have 10 agent categories, but we have removed the classifications of ‘large TMC’ or ‘small TMC’, because you can be a great agent whatever size company you work for.
We have extended the supplier categories, because we recognise that our readership does not only comprise agents.
We have also added a best TMC category, which does I agree sound as if its contradicting my previous statement.
However, if you read the small print you will see that to win the TMC must be nominated by its employees and prove to a select panel of judges what it does for its employees. So, it’s not about turnover, it’s about training, maternity leave, benefits and salaries.
I urge you to enter this year’s Awards – and get the recognition you deserve.
Good luck!
